HIP-HOP-BLUES

The Blackriders' Daddy Hemingway has been recording Hip-Hop with L.A. producers & rappers team EOL.
Three tracks are ready. The original tracks & voices were recorded & mixed in Berlin, Germany, with additional voices added, remixed & remastered  in C.B.E. Studios, Paris, France by Bernard Estardy. Produced by Colin Wolfe (past productions of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre & Madonna!) & Executive Produced by A Robin Direction.
New Releases 2007/8.

French & English track "ELLE S'EN VA" -
Daddy Hemingway opens the rapblues in French &
English, wondering where she's gone. He sings the plaintive hook - " She Left Alone" -
while rapper Jimmy Quill comes in to
lay down the truth about a relationship with this woman who's just left house and home.
Colin Wolfe, whose fingerprints are all over Hip-Hop's defining Dr. Dre lps, "Chronic" & "Chronic II," lays down a pumping, hypnotic beat, playing keyboards, drums & bass all himself! -

"RED LIGHT BLUES NIGHT"
A ROBIN DIRECTION

Recorded in different time periods (from 1990 in Paris, France to 2000 in Berlin, Germany), Hemingway proudly presents this album of mostly live performances.
Studio work on this cd includes the title POONTANG & the title MALCOM X. The mp3s available to listen are the strings beginning RED LIGHT, BLUES NIGHT (recorded 2000 in Deutsche Oper Berlin), the tantalizing solo voice & piano of WANNA BE YO' DOCTOR with its unexpected kazoo solo, 1991's live recording in Paris, France of LAWDY ROLL'A that moves your feet along with its insinuating beat. And the créme de la créme: BACK IN THE DELTA, recorded live in Berlin at the Deutsche Oper with Blackriders Strings and Blackriders Orchestra, conducted by Deutsche Oper Berlin's Kevin McCutcheon!

Blues Meets Classic In The DEUTSCHE OPER BERLIN.

Berlin,Germany... 2000. Onstage the feeling was electric! A 35-piece orchestra playing, DADDY HEMINGWAY singing, an audience representing a who's who of Culture in Germany, headed by Germany's Minister of Culture, paying homage to Blues In The Opera!

"BLACKRIDERS TANGO"

"BUBBA SAVE THE WORLD"  was written for President Bill Clinton, and released to US radio in 1998 along the East Coast. President Clinton was sent a copy and sent a machine thank-you back in reply. "BLACKRIDERS TANGO" still has to receive its proper release in the US. Negotiations will be undertaken with several US distributors in order to re-release “Bubba Save The World” by year-end 2008.

RANDY WESTON'S
"AFRICAN RHYTHMS"
Randy Weston was recorded by Robin Hemingway in June/July 1969 in Paris, France at Polydor's Rue des Dames  studios in the 18th arrondissement. Robin Hemingway encountered many problems during these recordings (2 albums), including having to engineer most of the recordings himself. Finding it difficult to explain to the recording engineer at Polydor's des Dames' Studio that he didn't want to record Jazz as Jazz, but Jazz as Rock an' Roll (giving the music the full, round sound normally accorded recordings of R & R or Blues, but never recordings of Jazz), he sat at the console himself.

The directors of the studios were scandalized and threatened to cancel the sessions but it all came to nought: Hemingway barricaded the doors of the studio and continued recording all day until late evening. When they finally stopped and were ready to leave the studio, the director called on the intercom telephone. The engineer assured him the recording was coming along well and there was no cause for panic: "Monsieur Hémingway à  crée un nouveau son pour le Jazz!
( Mister Hemingway has created a new sound for  Jazz!)"

Available on vinyl or CD.

T-BONE WALKER
" GOOD FEELIN "
Grammy-Album
"GOOD FEELIN" won France its first-ever Grammy Award (1971) and gave Polydor-US its first year's  crowning achievement. Hemingway plans to re-release it in October 2008 as part of the 40th Anniversary of A Robin Direction's production success-story in France.
"GOOD FEELIN'"  will be released with its original cover & remastering will be done in the original studios, C.B.E. Studios in Paris, France. There are plans by Robin Hemingway to reform  T-Bone Walker's Walker Airlines to play some dates in the USA & UK in this year of  the 40th Anniversary of A Robin Direction.
